H-E-B Nutty Brown store front

SWEET TUNES, RICH HISTORY

To honor a site with heritage that reaches back decades, I created a tribute mural to serve as a beacon near’s the Austin H-E-B store’s entrance.

Before the site was purchased, it operated as the Nutty Brown Café & Amphitheater. Before that, its original operation was a candy shop, formally known as Nutty Brown Mills.

To preserve and celebrate this heritage, the layered mural includes vintage photography and iconography inspired by the original signage. Serving as a backdrop for this mural, numerous red bricks were preserved from the original site, and repurposed in the wall.

I also designed a display case to showcase signed guitars that were gifted by the previous owner.
